Data has become a strategic tool for tourism development. In partnership with Travel Data, the Valais-based start-up Visioos uses its tool Destination-Lens to help destinations and tourism service providers in the comprehension and valorisation of their data, strengthening their performance and competitiveness.
Founded in 2021 by three old friends – Valentin Bornatici, Alexandre Berclaz and Yann Clavien – who met at the HES-SO Valais in Sierre, Visioos results from a concrete need expressed by a major Swiss tourism stakeholder: Magic Pass. The ambition was clear from the beginning. The company aimed to highlight existing data to help tourism enterprises better understand their activity and gain a more detailed comprehension of their economy.
Based in Valais and driven by a passion for mountain regions, the company has since specialised in the development of data solutions tailored to the needs of the tourism industry.
A user-friendly platform, designed for tourism service providers and event organisers
Launched on December 10, 2025, the Destination-Lens platform developed by Visioos is dedicated to optimising tourism performance. It relies especially on mobility data coming from Swisscom Mobility Insights, supplemented by other relevant sources, to provide a precise, and impartial analysis of tourist flows.
Thanks to its accessible, user-oriented service, Destination-Lens enables destinations, tourism service providers, and event organisers, to track key indicators, identify trends, analyse visitor numbers and manage their activities more efficiently. This data-driven approach improves decision-making and information sharing between the region’s various stakeholders.
Digitourism Days: a catalyst
Thanks to its digital services for tourism stakeholders, Visioos benefited from the support of Economic Promotion Valais partners, especially through the programme Digitourism. As Valentin Bornatici says, “the programme Digitourism, as well as the financial and administrative support from Economic Promotion Valais, were real catalysts in Visioos’ development”.
During the 2023 Digitourism Days in Champéry, the young enterprise formed a partnership with Travel Data, a company coming from the G2A French group, major player in the field of tourist data valorisation. This first encounter laid the foundation for a close collaboration between the two companies, which share the same approach.
“A significant milestone in Visioos’ development”
The launch of Destination-Lens marks a significant milestone in Visioos’ development. The company recently took a key step by hiring its first German-speaking employee.
In the near future, Visioos aims to expand its services on a national scale. “2026 will be the year when we present the various tools of the platform, while supporting our clients and answering their needs”, Valentin Bornatici summarises.
