Valais-based SME Lugaia, which specializes in sterile packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its German subsidiary this year. Founded in 2015 in Ingolstadt near Munich, this subsidiary was a major milestone in the internationalization strategy of this innovative company based in Rarogne (Valais).
The establishment of the subsidiary Lugaia Deutschland GmbH in Ingolstadt, near Munich, marks an important step in the group’s internationalization strategy. «As a young father, I had the opportunity to join a company and set up an independent branch,» recalls Thomas Weingartner, who has been at the helm of the subsidiary since its inception. The Ingolstadt start-up center played a key role in supporting the launch phase.

«Our products are often tailor-made for our customers, which requires a high degree of flexibility within the company,» emphasizes Thomas Weingartner. This agile positioning enables the German team not only to keep pace with industry trends, but now also to «set them,» underscoring the subsidiary’s maturity and dynamism.
